Make sure the hand brake is fully off. If it is, there is something wrong with your car's brake system. Top off the brake fluid. If it was low, you have a leak. You can get by just adding brake fluid occasionally but to be safe I would get the problem fixed.

Is this the internal brake light on dashboard or the physical light on back of the car and/or rear window signal? If it's the internal dash light have your dealer check for a sensor that is giving an improper signal or it's time for maintenance. If the phsycial light is on; double check your parking / emergency break.

It is possible that the brake light actuator switch is faulty. Look at the top of the brake pedal lever for a small electrical switch. The shop manual should have a wiring diagram that is helpful in tracing the actuator switch connections to points which are easy to test with an ohm meter.

More than likely your brake light switch is stuck on. Since I don't know what year it is I can't tell you how to adjust it.
