Why does my cat litter box smell fishy, and how can I fix it?

Try using different kinds of litter. If the actual stools and/or urine smell fishy, you should take your cat to a vet because cat excrement smelling fishy is not normal.

If the litterbox smells, you need to clean it more often. You may need to clean the litterbox with soap and water and put in new cat litter and then scoop often after. You may also need to try a different cat litter.

From my expirences with cats if the litter has a fishy smell it can be several things, If the litter box is clean maybe try changing the cats diet.
