Why does my TV have a line across the picture?

On a flatscreen, it is probably a line of dead pixels. On a CRT, it might be a problem with one of the coils on the horizontal/vertical drive coils, or also dead pixels. If it is under warranty, send it in, if not, you want to look into repair/replacement.

It could mean that it is time for a new tv. Usually when this happens, it means the television is getting old or outdated, and you may want to consider buying a new one. I would recommend looking at Best Buy or other large electronics chains. Best of luck to you!

If my experience is any indication, a line like this on the screen indicates a very serious problem with the picture tube. If the tube inside the set is going bad, you'll probably need to buy a new television.

there could be alot of things. first make sure there is not any electricle appliances near the tv that is effecting the signal on the wave lenghts. if that doesn't change then you should have a look at the tube. mabe one of the parts inside has gone or is just loose.

when your tv has a line across it this is because of field collapse it is because your integrated circuit chips has bunt up
