As a hobby fishing is relaxing, peaceful, and quite fun. A great way to communicate with wild life, but when you're fishing to make money it usually results in over fishing (Tuna for example). When you're over fishing you don't give the fish enough time to respawn, therefore the fish becomes threatened or even extinct. We need to be careful.

The ocean is a very deadly and dangerous place to be on a boat. The weather changes rapidly as well as currents often change quickly. Also when out at sea a few hundred miles, medical attention is not relatively accessible.

Since industrial fishing tends to overfish the oceans, this would result in collapsing marine ecosystems. Take the example of the bluefin tuna: due to commercial fishing, it is now an endangered species.

Commercial fishing may be considered dangerous because of the large amount of unintended catch (bycatch) and the destructive practices (trawling) that damage local ecosystems.
