Why is it called called a "strike" in bowling?

Bowling had been discovered by various primitive bowling balls, bowling pins and other materials in the grave of an Egyptian boy dating to 3200 BC, which was over 5200 years ago.The strike name were symbols that monks in Germany used in playing which was a "X" marking showing a win.

It is called a strike due to the nature of the ball, striking the pins in the process of knocking them over. All in one shot was proclaimed a strike.
