Why is my baby guinea pig shivering?

Guinea pigs come from a warm climate and are very susceptible to drafts and cold. As such, upper respiratory ills can be common. If he's sneezing, or has crusty eyes or nostrils a vet visit maybe in order.

Might be fear, or it could be an illness. Take your pig to an exotics vet (one who specialises in rodents, not an ordinary cat/dog vet) for a checkup, just to be safe. Make sure to keep him/her in temperatures between 60 and 75 degrees fahrenheit, with no draughts.

There are two explanations I can think of, although it ccould be something else. One, it could just be cold. Two, it could be having a seizure.

There are many reasons for shivering. Your pig might be cold (they should be kept at 65-75 F temperatures) or it could be mites, a URI, or some other illness. Make sure your pig is eating hay and pellets normally, supplemented with vegetables and lots of vitamin C. It's also worth a visit to your vet for an exam.

Might be because of cold (they should be kept in 65-75F temperatures), but it could also be an illness. If there is sneezing, weight loss, lack of eating/drinking/pooping, eye crusties, ethargy or if you suspect something is wrong, then take your pig to a qualified exotics vet asap for a checkup.

It could be fear or an illness. Make sure the temperature is adequate (65-75 degrees fahrenheit) and there are no breezes. If in doubt, it is best to take your pig to an EXOTICS vet for an exam.
