Why is my dog walking in circles?

He has no other symptoms.

He could be simply bored or need exercise. Depending on how long he has been exhibiting this behavior. If it is the same hour after hour, he may have a compusory behaviour that he cannot control.

Most likely, it is because he or she is bored. Dogs need to have a "purpose. " They need to have a schedule so boredom doesn't kick in. Schedule walks for the dog to help keep him active and drain any unwanted extra energy. Remember the dog relies on you for everything.

Dogs will walk in circles for a variety of reasons. It may be behavioral, or due to a medical conditon. Dogs may circle before lying down or looking for a spot to defacate. Circling could also be caused by neurological disorders, infection, ear problems, parasites, brain tumors, blood disorders, distemper, or encephalitis.

Usually the dogs walk alongwith his master, but if the dog starts walks in circle it is symptom that the dog is not normal and it need a check-up by the vetenerian. There may be some sort of disease that is going to effect the dog which is not known to us.

Dogs sometimes walk in circles before they lie down to find the most comfortable position. If you dog has never walked in circles before and now suddenly is there could be a medical reason. The medical reason could be as simple as an ear infection. See your vet for concerns.

He could have an inner ear infection or other inner ear disorder, but more than likely the dog is just chasing his/her tail as most dogs do.
