First check for anything which might be binding it and restricting it from opening. Secondly, check the electrical system for blown fuses or loose wires which might be causing he motor not to get power. If it is getting electricity and not binding by anyone you should have the motor checked for functionality.

Could be a blown fuse, stuck and dirty track, or a blown motor for the moon roof assembly. You should check the fuse first, then move on to the track, but can be quick and inexpensive fixes. The motor however is a little harder to replace, and should be looked at by a pro.

Most likely the motor has gone bad and will need replacement. You should be able to open it using the keyed chuck that came with the automobile.

If it has not been opened in an extended period of time working parts may have rusted or corroded. Other causes may be that your switches or wiring harnesses have gone bad, or that a fuse blew.

There are several things that could be at fault. The first thing to check is the moon roof fuse. Once you have eliminated that, check the moon roof switch with a multimeter to verify that works properly when pressed. Finally test the sunroof motor itself to see if that functions.

Could be a number of problems. Mine did the same thing. It is probably just been bumped off the track. Or the tension cord attached has popped off.

It is common problem on 4 runners. A few reason it could be stuck. 1 The fuse is blown. 2. The belt sensor has slipped off and no longer works. 3. The motor is dead. If its issues 1 or 2 you can fix it for 100. It issue 3 expect to pay 1200 plus for new one.

Typically when something like a moon roof stops working it is because a components has failed. IF you lucky it is simply a blown fuse. Otherwise your switch or the motor is broken. Both can be diagnosed with a multimeter.

Either it is stuck, the motor stopped working, or the switch is bad. I would make sure the switch work first. Then test out the motor.

Your Four Runner's roof is probably not opening because of a dead battery for it or some king of loose wire.
