Will the picture on my television improve when the signals are digital?

No it won't improve. The t.v.'s picture is based on it's own quality and not the quality of the signal.

Digital signals typically appear much sharper than older analog. Analog was pretty susceptible from things like interference that could degrade picture quality. For the best resolution go with a HD digital cable if you have a compatible tv.

Depends on what channel you are watching, and the weather. It's pretty much the same, digital signals or not. Buy a better television screen if you want better quality.

Yes, there should be a general improvement to the quality of the picture on your television once the signals are digital. Digital transmission will improve the overall quality of the reception and image and many are noting remarkable improvement. We all look forward to the complete switching over to digital.

This is primarily due to error-correction performed on digital signals that can compensate for any over-the-air variations. For really weak signals, you will experience either a black screen or picture "blockiness" for digital versus the "snowy" picture for analog.

Digital signals do tend to improve picture quality. With digital signals, all the information about the pictures is transmitted entirely and faithfully. With older (analog) broadcast systems, it was easy and common to lose small portions of the inmation, which frequently led to fuzzy, imperfect image quality.

Not really, the only way to really get the benefits of a digital broadcast is to have a digital TV.
