There are only 2 ways in which you can have area different area codes on a family account, if your area code is in the same market or if you have a business account.

Yes it is possible to have two different area code numbers on one family plan. If you already have the numbers, simply ask to have them put onto the same family plan. You have yet to get the numbers, make sure that the representative activating the phones knows that you need two different area codes.

Yes, AT&T wireless will allow you to have more than one area code or even one state on a family account. You are not limited to being in the same region of the country on a family plan. The area code and number is assigned based on where you tell AT&T the phone will be used primarily.

Yes, when you get the new phone, you simply tell them in the store where locally you want the number to come from.

You can have two area codes on two separate phone. The easiest way to make that possible to is to transfer one phone number onto the other plan.

Yes , having the choice of two diffrent area codes , could be a good thing or a bad thing. For ne wouldn't it be confusing not know who is who. How would you screen your calls from from people you don't want to talk too? Like your over protective Dad.
