Do muscles tear?

In ordinary exercise muscles get stronger by being "damaged" and then repairing that damage. When an injury happens, the damage is far greater but the muscle is still capable of repairing itself in most circumstances if it is rested and not damaged further.

Muscle tears occur when muscle are fatigued and overstrained. They will also tear due to lack of flexability and not proper stretching.You need to apply ice to the area wrap with an ace bandage. Keep it elevated . Treatment should last for at least72 hours

Yes, muscles do tear. A muscle tear is when a large number of muscle fibers are torn. Muscle tears cause severe pain and swelling. Severe bleeding may result in the formation of a blood clot. Surgery maybe necessary to repair a muscle tear. If not serious, muscle tears can repair themselves.
