I have had the same thing since I was a child. It's a lump in the area behind my ear, not noticeable unless I put pressure there. A doctor said years ago that it was nothing to worry about, but you might want to visit an internist to be sure.

You need to see your doctor. Your lymph nodes are located there, and if this a swelling there, it is notifying you of a problem that could be anything from a minor infection to something that needs intervention. This could be a minor cyst, or it could be your body issuing a call for assistance.

If the lump on the earlobe has been present for a long time, has grown or has a decoloration, or if it is painful, a person should see a doctor.
