I have fibromyalgia and my husband is divorcing me, will I lose the house?

There is no reason your fibromyalgia should come into play in deciding if you lose the house. If your husband has moved out you have a better chance of being awarded the house. However you may have to pay your husband half of the equity that is in the house.

Your fibromyalgia has nothing to do with the outcome of the divorce. Your lawyer and your husbands lawyer will have to find a way to properly divide your assets. You will get half and so will he. You may have to sell the house and split the proceeds.

I don't think he can take the house just because you are sick. You should consult an attorney to find out what your right are.

If you do not have enough income or alimony to make the house payments, you are unable to afford it and should sell it instead of trying to hang on.
