My pet mouse is losing her hair. What's wrong?

Adrenal diseases are common in mice, since they have been so extensively bred in captivity. It's possible that some glands in her body have started to shut down. It's also possible she has a bad case of fleas, skin fungus or hot spots.

This is normal if the mouse is older and would just be a sign of old age. It could be something more serious like cancer. Take it to a vet.

There could be a number of reasons. She may be ill. She may not be getting adequate nutrition from her food or not eating it. She may be stressed out by something. Or she may be picking at it all by herself. Try improving her diet and her environment first.
