Should a black molly's color change?

Some natural color change may occur based on the food they are eating and the amount of available cover in the fish tank. However, if you are seeing significant introduction of white splotches, look carefully, they may be a disease called (fittingly) ick.

Black mollys can become lighter as they age. They can develop silver spots like a dalmation. But not as spotty. But if this color change comes on quite quickly I would check for a fungal problem.

Yes it is natural for a black molly to change color. They usually change color around adulthood if they are going to. Many other aquarium fish do this aswell.
