Most problems associated with Microsoft (or any other brand) keyboards tend to center around user error. For example: not plugging the usb receiver into the computer, or not putting in (or failing to change) the power supply (batteries). Interference (such as radio waves and/or proximity to metallic objects) and failure to install the specific product software are slightly less common.

One of the biggest concerns is the privacy of the information being inputted into the computer. It could possibly be intercepted within receiving distance. All wireless keyboards also require many batteries. Wireless routers, radios, cell phones, and large metal objects can also block the signal.

It depends very much on the keyboard you are looking at. Most of them have the same problems as all wireless keyboards. Usually range.

Microsoft tends to do good work with their technology, there may be a few bugs or a bit more pricey but generally they run better then most other name brands.
