A cat with hind leg fractures may be suffering from a major bone disease. Additionally, these fractures may be the result of recent physical trauma. Cats may exhibit difficulty moving or prolonged pain as a result of such fractures. If you suspect your cat has experienced a hind leg fracture, seek veterinary attention immediately.

There's really no reason why this should occur. If it does, you MUST go to a vet. You CANNOT vet this on your own without being cruel. This can only occur if the cat has fallen from great height, been attacked by a dog or suffered cruelty.

My cat recently was diagnosed with multiple fractures to her hind leg and I suspect cruelty at the hands of my next door neighbor. The vet would not speculate and said there is no way to tell.

You need to ask the vet about that, only the doctor can give you answers to that question. The vet will tell you how to help the cat.
