There were many important historical events that happened in the 1660s. In England in 1661 the body of Oliver Cromwell was dug up and posthumously executed by the reestablished royal government. Cromwell was the leader of a Revolution that established the Commonwealth and ended the Monarchy by committing regicide (killing the King).

The second anglo dutch wars started in the 1660's. Also the russo-polish war ended in 1667. Louis XIV of France conquers Tournai as well.
