Originally its seems the drill, not love, however, that the dense woodland. He loves the vicinity of large rivers especially that of primary forests of South America. Like the leopard, he loves the open country. The distribution begins in northern Argentina and Uruguay, through the American south and central regions even bordering New Mexico and Arizona

The jaguar loves to swim and soak in water, so their natural habitat is dense lowland rainforests, such as the Amazon, and lowland covered habitat in India. They avoid open territory, needing the jungle cover in which to hide and stalk prey.
