A GED is a replacement for a high school diploma. A technical diploma is a certificate from a secondary educational program like trade school or beauty school.

A technical diploma is a certificate you receive from college courses that is less than an Associate's degree. Many schools that offer courses that take less than two years to complete will give out a diploma instead of a degree.
