Analog is taken exactly from it's original form, ie your voice as it is recorded. Digital is broken down into "numbers", better to store, re-create, and doesn't degrade.

Analog signals are transmitted via electronic pulses. Digital signals are transmitted via binary code (0s and 1s). The digital signals can fit more information in the same "space."

An analogue signal is any continuous signal for which the time varying feature of the signal is representation of some other time varying quantity. But digital signal can refer to discrete-signals that have a discrete number of levels.Only '1' and '0'digits representing its on and off states.

Analog devices take an audio or video signal and translate it into electronic pulses. Digital devices break the signal into a binary format where the audio or video data is represented by a series of "1"s and "0"s. Digital machines can pack a lot more information in the same space as analog machines. They also make signals clearer.
