Pekinese are more independant than most dogs but are still very affectionate with their owners. They are a great companion animal, but I will warn you that they are sometimes very difficult to housetrain. Training of any kind can be a little bit of a challenge (not the brightest of breeds).

These sturdy dogs are incredibly confident and the most independent of the toy breeds. They are notoriously hard to housetrain, shed profusely, tend to be gassy, snore and are prone to multiple health issues. So long as they respect you, they're well-mannered by nature and are generally accepting of other animals.

Pekinese are very loving dogs if they are raised that way. They are calm but like to play with small toys to get their exercise. They bark occasionally when something startles them but they are gentle. If they are brought up around young children then they are well behaved around them.

Pekingese dogs can be very stubborn and opinionated animals. They are independent and fiesty. They do better with older children. Can be loyal but rarely show affection.

These little fluff balls are great companions. They are very loyal and love to sit in your lap. They can be a bit yappy at times.

Pekinese are really playful and cute dogs. They will require a lot of attention for sure. You don't have to worry about the how much they will eat as toy dogs eat much less than the larger breeds.
