The muscles may be overworked and require rest. Hot compresses, hot showers, and Bengay would be good remedies if the pain can be localized. Consult a doctor if it persists.

Assess how deep and bad the pain is. Is it bone, muscle or tendon? If a couple of days of rest and cold packs don't give relief seek medical attention. Never use warm compresses on a sports injury as they only induce swelling by bringing blood to the injury point.

I would stop working out on the trapeze . Then I would alternate applying cold compresses with hot compresses. If the pain persisted I would visit a Doctor.

You should stop working out. The likelihood of you feeling pain is that you have hurt yourself somehow. If you can recognize the location of the pain, try applying some cooling medication pad onto it for about half an hour. Do not work out on the trapezes during this period of time. It will aggrevate the pain.
