Channel cats get fairly large, and have the potential to eat koi if they are kept together. If it is necessary, make sure the koi are larger.

Yes, large channel catfish can fit small koi fish into their mouths so there is always a chance that a koi will get eaten. Use a large, deep pond and the chances of your koi surviving are much better. Feed your fish twice a day. Sick fish can easily get eaten by large channel catfish. Add aquarium decorations and shelter.

Channel cats will eat the koi if the koi are smaller. They grow quickly though, and it might be hard to keep the koi bigger than the cats.
