pet health

Question by  BrotherMan (36)

Would you trust advice you got from a veterinarian hotline?

I think they may hire anybody to answer the phone.

Some veterinary hotlines are staffed by petfood company staff or people searching the internet for answers. If it's free, you are probably not talking to a real vet.

Some do hire anyone, but those that do have a checklist of things to look for that simply say "see a vet" or "wait and see". It's better than guessing.

Yes I would trust advice from a veterinarian hotline if I knew that it was associated with an actual pet health group.

I would trust the advise if it sounded correct. Pets are alot like humans so as long as the treatment sounds legit go with it.

Unless you know the veterinarian and can verify their credientials, you should get a second opinion when you can get to a veterinary clinic.
